LANGO : FREE AND COOL APP FOR ANDROID AND iOS

LANGO
Lango is an free app for android and ios. Lango consist of slightly sophisticated emoticon than the standard smiley face icon. Lango, a social networking app formerly known as Zlango, combines text messages with images, many geared toward daily news content, making it a more dynamic way for users to communicate tone and attitude in their messages. “The days of plain text messaging are over,” said Jennifer Grenz, vice president of marketing and content for Lango, who said the company embarked on overhauling the app about six months ago.
Not only did the company drop the “Z”, it also improved the interface, added more icons from which users can choose, beefed up the company’s “Essence Engine,” which interprets what images to suggest as user types, and added the ability to create and share custom meme-like images to Facebook and Twitter for more social media synchronicity.
Lango generates two types of messages, sparks and flairs.
Sparks are text messages to which the app will auto-generate an image it determines best suits the context of the message. As someone types, the app presents images to go along with the text. For example, “I think I like it,” might generate a thumbs-up sign, or “Do you want to go to the game?” might give you an icon of Tom Brady. Users can manually change the image the app selects by perusing Lango’s library of icons.
To add flairs, users can choose from a handful of custom backgrounds, add text and pictures, and post their meme-like creations to Facebook and Twitter.
The app comes with a selection of pre-loaded icons and backgrounds and provides users with 1,200 coins to use in its virtual store toward purchasing branded packs of icons such as Paul Frank or “The Walking Dead.”
Download this free app from Google Play and App Store.

PITBUL FEAT. CHRISTINA AGUILERA : FEEL THIS MOMENT

FEEL THIS MOMENT

Rapper Pitbull has unveiled the music video for "Feel This Moment", his collaboration with Christina Aguilera that serves as the newest single from his "Global Warming" album.
So disappointing "Feel This Moment" only gets a mediocre tour music video. What is RCA thinking?. The song is a smash! It's peaked to #13 on the Billboard Hot 100, it's currently on the Top 10 on iTunes USA, and airplay for the single is increasing each week. So why couldn't the Aguilera-assisted pop jam get a high MV budget?. I just cannot understand. This video is epicly bland and does nothing for the song, sorry Pitbull. The black-and-white visual shows Mr Worldwide performing shows across the world and Christina singing the chorus - looking kinda good (has she lost weight recently?) - in a leathery outfit in a lonely set. "Feel This Moment" samples "Take on Me" by A-ha.
"Feel This Moment" is a song by Cuban-American rapper Pitbull, featuring American recording artist Christina Aguilera. It was released as the fourth single from his seventh studio album Global Warming (2012). The song was written by Nasri Atweh, Adam Messinger, Sir Nolan, DJ Buddha, Pitbull, and Aguilera, while production was handled by Adam Messinger, Sir Nolan, Nasri Atweh, and DJ Buddha. The song features a re-created (not sampled) melody from "Take on Me" by A-ha, who received writing credits.
"Feel This Moment" is a dance-pop, hip house and electro house song, about stopping to take a moment to appreciate life. It received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who praised Aguilera's vocals, calling it "gorgeous," while also praising the sample used on the song. In its 7th week on the Billboard chart it has reached 13 and has so far peaked at 3 on the US itunes chart.

TAYLOR SWIFT "22" NEW MUSIC VIDEO FROM HER FOURTH STUDIO ALBUM RED

TAYLOR SWIFT
"22" is a song by American recording artist Taylor Swift from her fourth studio album Red (2012). It was written by Swift along with Max Martin and Shellback. Production was handled by Martin and Shellback, with Scott Borchetta serving as executive producer. The song is set to be released as the album's fourth single on March 12, 2013. "22" received positive reviews from music critics, who complimented Swift's collaboration with Martin and Shellback and the new pop sound they created for her.Taylor Swift dresses like a hipster and goes out for a day (and night) of fun in Malibu in the music video for "22", the singer's upcoming new pop smash from the album "Red".
Directed by Anthony Mandler, the carefree visual for "22" opens with the country-pop sensation chilling with her girl friends at home eating birthday cake leftovers before going out for a day of fun at the beach, and playing on the trampoline. The females then return home to get pretty and ready to host a celebration at their place that tens and tens of people will attend. Taylor dances like there's no tomorrow, throws confetti on the air and jumps into the pool in the finale. Surprisingly, I don't see Taylor enjoying any booze. What's up with that?. "22" is produced by Max Martin, and Shellback and it has, in my opinion, all proper the ingredients to become a global pop hit.

LADY GAGA AND HER 24-KARAT GOLDEN WHEEL CHAIR

Be careful what you wish for, or dream up.Years before she was forced to commission a 24-karat gold-plated wheelchair
 following hip surgery,
Lady Gaga was already indulging a fetish for medical equipment in some of her early videos.

In the 2009 "Vertigo"-tribute "Paparazzi"
video, Gaga is tossed off a balcony by her lover and, in the next scene, is shown wearing a blinged-out designer neck brace. A dancer then carries her out of her limo and deposits her in, let's be honest, a pretty boring, standard wheelchair.
Pretty soon, the neck brace comes off and Gaga slips into something a bit more uncomfortable in the form of a metal bustier and matching helmet, and hobbles down the purple carpet on a pair of crutches.
Talk about life imitating art!

Your complete style guide to Gaga's gilded wheelchair.
Along with her jones for ankle-breaking high heels, before she actually needed a surgeon's attention, Mother Monster made it clear that she also has a thing for hospitals, nurses and all things medical-related.
Remember 2011's "Marry the Night"
video? That nearly 14-minute epic opens with patient Gaga, wearing a hospital gown and white stilettos, being wheeled on a gurney through the halls of what looks like a sanitarium. She ends up in a surgical theater outfitted with a white upright piano, where the nurse who delivered her as a baby assures Gaga that everything is going to be okay.
In that clip, though, she seemed more concerned about being a star than with her back injury or the stern warning about "no intimacy" for two weeks.

SAMSUNG:GALAXY S IV

GALAXY S IV
Samsung Electronics Co. introduces the latest version of its Galaxy S smartphone at a high-profile event in New York on Thursday, the company will face a burden that rival Apple Inc. has been saddled with for years: high expectations.

While the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4 evolution, not revolution is likely: leaks and rumours suggest it will come with a screen just under five inches, an eight-core processor and 2GB of RAM.
It'll also have an improved screen and camera in all likelihood, and arrive with new gesture-based features or bespoke services, as that's how manufacturers tend to differentiate between their phones nowadays.
But the enterprise battle is less focused on particular features and more on the broader strategy, and that's where things get interesting. For more info click here

NASA: ANCIENT LIFE COULD HAVE SURVIVED ON MARS

NASA has made an exciting discovery after analyzing the rock sample collected by CURIOSITY ROVER. NASA has newly discovered grey (instead of red) parts of Mars show it had conditions that were "once were favorable for life.
The excitement stems around new samples that have been found to contain sulfur, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and carbon. They were pulled out of a new site, a few hundred yards away from where Curiosity had drilled in the fall of last year, and the elements found within are some of the key building blocks of life.

ADELE, MUMFORD &SONS, COLDPLAY ONE OF THE WINNER AT BRIT AWARDS

BRIT AWARDS 2013
Adele, Mumford & Son, Coldplay, One direction and many artist performed to their very best in order to win THE BRIT AWARDS among the winners
The Brit Awards  are the British Phonographic Industry's annual pop music awards, and the British equivalent of the American Grammy Awards. The name was originally a shortened form of "British", "Britain" or "Britannia" (in the early days the awards were sponsored by Britannia Music Club), but subsequently became a backronym for British Record Industry Trust. In addition, an equivalent awards ceremony for classical music, called the Classic BRIT Awards, is held each May. Robbie Williams holds the record for the most Brit Awards, having won a total of 12 as a solo artist and another five awards as part of Take That.
The awards began in 1977 as part of the commemoration of the Queen’s Silver Jubilee and as an annual event in 1982 under the auspices of the British record industry's trade association, the BPI. The last BPI Awards show was the first of the ceremonies to be broadcast on television, by the BBC, and in 1989 they were renamed the Brit Awards. MasterCard has been the long-time sponsor of the event.
The Brit Awards were broadcast live until 1989, when Samantha Fox and Mick Fleetwood hosted a widely criticised show in which little went as rehearsed. Subsequently, the event was recorded and broadcast the following night. This was part of a revamp by Jonathan King, who created the "BRITs" moniker, and organised a new look show.
From 2007, the Brit Awards reverted to a live broadcast on British television, on 14 February on ITV. In that year, comedian Russell Brand was presenter and three awards were dropped from the ceremony: Best British Rock Act, Best British Urban Act and Best Pop Act.
On 18 February 2009, the venue for the BRITs was once again the Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London. The 2011 Brit Awards were held at The O2 Arena in London for the first time in its history, moving from the original venue of Earls Court.

STONEHENGE WAS A GRAVEYARD, SAY EXPERTS

STONEHENGE

British archaeological landmark Stonehenge started its life as a fancy cemetery for a community, according to a new explanation by archaeologists.

Experts studied cremated bones of 63 people, and the studies suggest that about 500 years before Stonehenge was built, a larger stone circle was erected at the same site as a community graveyard, the Independent reported.

"These were men, women, children, so presumably family groups. We'd thought that maybe it was a place where a dynasty of kings was buried, but this seemed to be much more of a community, a different kind of power structure," said Mike Parker Pearson, a professor from University College London.

Archaeologists studied cremated bones of 63 individuals, and believed that they were buried around 3,000 BC.

The earlier circular enclosure, which measured around 300 feet across, could have been the burial ground for about 200 more people, Pearson said.

The team, which included academics from more than a dozen British universities, also offered some theories about the purpose of the second Stonehenge, which still stands today in Wiltshire.

Theories about Stonehenge say it was a place for Druid worship, an observatory for astronomical studies or a place of healing built by early inhabitants of Britain who roamed around with their herds.

Pearson said the latest study suggests that Stonehenge should be seen less a temple of worship than a kind of building project that served to unite people from across Britain.

The daily said that analysis of the remains of a Neolithic settlement near the monument showed that thousands of people travelled from far, bringing their livestock and families for huge feasts and celebrations.

The team said that the builders did not live there all the time but converged seasonally to build Stonehenge, but not for very long, possibly for decade or so.

TWO YEARS AFTER TSUNAMI, FUKUSHIMA CHURCH HOLDS A SERVICE:

IWAKI, Japan — After the rumbling and the devastating waves had ceased, the members of a little church a stone’s throw away from the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant discovered that a new set of troubles was just beginning.

For two years since an earthquake set off a tsunami that caused the disaster at the nuclear plant, the church’s 150 parishioners have had little respite, first fleeing radiation from the plant, then seeking a more permanent place to reassemble as prospects dimmed for a return home.
Many dislocated communities in Japan have been grappling with recovery efforts, and the uprooted draw strength and resilience from a variety of sources. But small victories nourish hopes and fortify flagging spirits on the road back to normality.
On Sunday, the Fukushima First Baptist Church took such a step with its first service in a new chapel it built from supporters’ donations in Iwaki, a wind-swept city about 30 miles south of the plant. Some elderly parishioners did not make it, though. And others remain scattered across Japan, unwilling to return because of their children or their jobs, or because they still need the support of distant relatives.
“There were times when we felt like we lost everything that we hold dear, and we asked: ‘God, why?’ ” Masashi Saito, the church’s junior pastor, said Sunday as about 50 members bowed their heads in prayer.
Two years since the destruction along Japan’s northeast coast, some communities in Fukushima are just starting to come to terms with a sobering realization: their old homes are probably lost forever, and they must start anew elsewhere.
In the wider Fukushima region, much of life is back to normal. But the return of former residents to the most heavily contaminated areas around the plant is likely to take decades, the government has acknowledged, as will the decommissioning of the ravaged plant itself.
In once-emptied areas where evacuations orders have now been lifted, re-population has been uneven. Cities, towns and even families remain divided between those who choose to return, and those who stay away. Over the past two years, Fukushima’s population has fallen by more than 60,000, according to local censuses, though the pace of the population decline has now slowed.
The Baptist church, in Okuma, its original location in Fukushima Prefecture, is also still missing many of its members. But the opening of its new chapel this month, at least, ends a two-year journey that members say tested the faith of even the most faithful.
Founded by American missionaries who arrived in Japan from Minnesota in the early years after World War II, the church predates the nuclear plants that transformed a poor village on Fukushima’s hardscrabble coast into one of the region’s most prosperous towns.
The church grew swiftly, parishioners say, and swifter still after the Tokyo Electric Power Company, or Tepco, started work on the Daiichi plant, drawing young workers to the area. The congregation of 150 was a sizable number in a country dominated by Buddhist and native Shinto traditions. The Christian presence is tiny; just under 3 million in a country of 127 million, according to government estimates, or about 2.3 percent of the population. With dwindling congregations in Japan, many churches struggle to survive.
Keiji Nakada, now 60, was a worker who traveled from Tochigi to help Tepco build the plant. He joined the church at 20, married there and settled in Okuma. He and his wife had four children, and he became active in the Sunday school.
Mr. Nakada’s wife died years ago, and then less than a year after he retired from Tepco, the magnitude 9 quake jolted his home.
Early the next morning, all residents of Okuma were ordered to evacuate. He said he left home thinking he would be back in a matter of hours, but he has not returned since, except on short day trips to retrieve a few of his belongings.
“I had no words,” Mr. Nakada said. “I’d lost the plant I helped to build, the church I belonged to and my home.”
That same morning, Tomoko Sasaki, now 92, waited six hours in the cold for Japan’s Self-Defense Force to bus her out of Okuma to a nearby gymnasium. She had taken refuge in the church overnight, and for three chaotic weeks she traveled with about 60 parish members, including Mr. Nakada, to two other evacuation sites before a camp site west of Tokyo offered to take them all in.
Ms. Sasaki, who entered an elder care center in Tokyo this year, said she would not have survived the evacuation on her own.
When she was baptized 65 years ago — she was the Fukushima church’s first convert — she got funny looks from neighbors. Only a few years earlier, she said, she had pledged allegiance to the emperor as Japan’s deity. “There are still so few Christians in Japan, but I suppose that also means we look out for each other,” Ms. Sasaki said by telephone from Tokyo.
But morale often ran low. In May 2011, relief workers pulled the body of a missing parishioner from the mangled debris that still lined the coast. Two more elderly church members died in hospitals. The 60 evacuees from the church, now in west Tokyo, held three funerals in two weeks.
Still, the church also gained new members: a family of seven who decided to evacuate along with the church asked to be baptized the same month.
A year later, in June 2012, Mr. Nakada married a fellow church member, Keiko Mizoguchi, 51, whose husband had died a month after the disaster. Mr. Nakada and Ms. Mizoguchi, who both stayed in Fukushima, had been driving down every month to visit the temporary church in west Tokyo.
“It’s easy to lose your way in Japan,” said Mr. Saito, the pastor. “The disaster, in fact, has made us all stronger.”

RAPYUTA HELPS ROBOTS UNDERSTAND THE HUMAN WORLD

Rapyuta, the RoboEarth Cloud Engine, is a Platform as a Service framework for robots. The figure on the left gives a simplified overview of the Rapyuta framework: Each robot connected to Rapyuta will have a secured computing environment (rectangular boxes) giving them the ability to move their heavy computation into the cloud. In addition, the computing environments are tightly interconnected with each other and have a high bandwidth connection to the RoboEarth knowledge repository (stacked circular disks).
European scientists have just launched Raptuya, an online database of information for robots, that helps robots cope in the world of humans. The Raptuya database is part of the European RoboEarth Project, a “World Wide Web for robots”. The project is designed so that robots can download information from the internet to learn about their environment, software components, objects and images, and also how to perform certain tasks.

The launch of Raptuya is the first phase of the RoboEarth project. With the help of Ratuya, robots don’t have to individually learn how to deal with objects and situations on their own. Raptuya will help speed up the process by downloading the necessary information to the robot via cloud networking. Raptuya will also help the robot do computation so that it can easily figure out how to navigate around, perform tasks, and recognize languages.
By having this online database for robots, scientists are hoping that the cost of robots will go down because there will be less reliance on on-board storage and computation. The information on the Raptuya database is provided by both robots, who upload their information into the database, and humans, who create information for the robots. All of the information is in a machine-readable format that is easily accessible to the robots.
RoboEarth is designed to lead the way for innovation for robots. It will also prove to be useful for drones, as well as self-driving cars. The scientists at Oxford University were looking for a way for their self-driving car system to be able to download information about their environment though the internet. It looks like they have their answer now. We may see life that has somewhat of a semblance to The Jetsons, with mobile robot servants becoming more affordable and being able to learn how to “fold an item of clothing and understand human speech.”

DISPOSABLE ROCKETS ARE PREVENTING US FROM MAKING STAR TREK A REALITY, SAYS SPACEX’S ELON MUSK

AUSTIN, TX — While I’ve always believed  our lack of warp drive technology is what’s kept humanity from meeting the Vulcans, SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk said there’s another, more practical roadblock: Rockets, specifically the kind that you only get a single use out of.
OK, he didn’t actually mention Vulcans, but he was very clear that the future of space travel depends on us being able to create a rocket that isn’t a zillion dollars and can be reused multiple times.
“Reusable rockets are vastly important if you think its important that humanity span beyond earth and become a multi-planetary species,” Musk said to two very crowded large ballrooms during a keynote at SXSW yesterday. “If you can imagine watching Star Trek, and if they built a new star ship after every trip? It’s pretty silly. And all the other transports we use — planes, trains, cars, bikes — are all reusable. But not rockets.”
Musk’s initial space project that would have sent a platform-like green house to Mars, that would have (hopefully) eventually pave the way for humans to survive on the planet. He and his team initially nailed all the costs, the scientific process of making it actually work, how to send pictures of it back to earth — pretty much everything except for those asshole disposable rockets.
“The first idea I came up with was actually to do philanthropic mission to send a greenhouse to the surface of mars, with seeds of dehydrated gel that would hydrate upon landing,” Musk said. “You’d have this cool greenhouse, with green plants on a red background. That would be the money shot.”
Musk explained that the cost of disposable rockets makes space travel truly prohibitive for a large number of businesses to jump into the field. For instance, he said the cost of the fuel and oxygen on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 space craft is .9 percent of the entire cost of the trip, while the rocket accounts for the rest of it.
The SpaceX chief exec also treated the audience to some newly released footage of the company’s fourth flight test of reusable self-landing rocket Grasshopper, which we’ve embedded below.
For now, Space X is making due with the one-off rockets to launch cargo ships into space via its Dragon 2 space craft, which recently had some problems docking with the International Space Station before calling the mission a success.
